A Redditor with the username @lickmewhereIs**t shared the post to the subreddit r/cats on January 24. The post is titled, “Supervising me in the tub to make sure I don’t drown.”
In the viral photo, a grey and white cat can be seen hoisted up on its back legs looking into the bath from the side of the tub in the bathroom. Ruby’s eyes are wide as she stared in the direction of her owner, who is taking a bath at the time. The photo is taken from the viewpoint of the person in the tub watching the cat stare intently.
According to Statista, as of 2018, there were 370 million cats as pets in the world. The website also reported that in a survey from 2019 to 2020, there were 42.7 million households with at least one cat in the United States.
