Fisher was revealed to be part of the cast in the lead-up to the release of Dishonored, but many were unaware that her role as a broadcasting propagandist was hidden as an Easter egg. However, glixel managed to uncover the actress’ secret role recently and it appears that players need to fulfill certain requirements in order to hear her distinctive voice.

While Dishonored can be played without killing anyone, players will have to kill the male propaganda officer located in Dunwall Tower during the mission “Return to the Tower” in order to uncover Fisher’s hidden cameo. Once this is done, the actress’ trademark voice will be heard later in the game over the public address system, telling people to “prepare for a temporary disruption in city government services” as well as not to “interfere with the regular transfer of deceased persons to disposal centers in the Flooded District” and that “any disturbance in the region of Dunwall Tower this evening has been the result of a previously scheduled training exercise.”

Though Fisher’s role was small and amounted to only a handful of lines, Dishonored creative director Harvey Smith had only positive things to say about the actress, paying tribute to her on Twitter by saying that she was “gracious, funny and creatively open”.

The reveal of Fisher’s hidden role in Dishonored will undoubtedly drive interest back to the 2012 stealth-action title, but for those who don’t own the game or can’t join in on any of the vigils held in The Old Republic, the actress can also be heard as Princess Leia in the 1994 title Super Star Wars: Return of the Jedi as well as the recent LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

It goes without saying that Carrie Fisher’s passing will leave a void in the entertainment industry, but with the outpouring of touching in-game tributes from fans as well as loving messages from many in the comic, gaming, and sci-fi communities, the actress may be gone but she will never be forgotten.
